It seems as though the error message "Cannot request non-HTTP URL" is actually a euphemism for "there is something wrong with mysqueezebox.com". After the FW upgrade I got that message which I had never seen before. I rushed to check that all my URLs for favorites and podcasts had HTTP at the beginning. They did, but none of them worked.
Then the problem cleared up. From time to time it happens again. Then after a while, it goes away again.
