Don't use channel 13 (any channel >11) with the Radio unless you patch the Radio as described here: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17071
Although it works for some, it is definitely more trouble than its worth and can lead, itself, to exactly the symptoms being described.
