Toby10 Thanks for help. I do use the LMS and have done for around 4 years with an SB3. Computer is an Acer desktop on Windows 7. I have always struggled with the complexities of the Squeezebox teckyness, not being very computer literate, so I bought the radio hoping it would 'just work' and be easy to use. The radio plays music held on the computer without a problem, but when I try to use it as a radio I am having problems. If I have been playing music from LMS and select 'internet radio' does it then connect to mysqueezebox.com, if not how do I get it to do so. It seems to remain connected to LMS and only picks up the BBC iplayer app not radio stations. I think that is why it seemed to be losing the presets (as you pointed out). I wanted to be able to use it without having the computer on all the time. BTW I switched on LMS just now to check the version and it looks completely different. grrrrrr!
