yep, it takes a while to get your hand around this. The critical thing to understand at the moment is where the radio gets its music. There are TWO possibilities: 1. mysqueezebox.com (this is the Logitech Media Server (LMS) "in the cloud" rather than sitting on a computer at your house). You can listen to internet radio, music services such as Pandora, Rhapsody, SiriusXM, etc. (some of these require a separate paid account). [To add more confusion this used to be called SqueezeNetwork and LMS used to be SqueezeBoxServer (SbS), SqueezeCenter (SC).] 2. Logitech Media Server (LMS). This is installed on your local computer. It does everything that mysb.com does AND it allows you to load your own music files on your computer and play those as well with your Radio. In setting up the LMS on your computer, you do have to click on the icon in your tray, click on control panel, then the "Account" tab. Here enter your mysqueezebox.com credentials and hit "apply". If you have your own music files you should click on the "library" tab, and give it a name (e.g. Gary's Music Library) and most importantly click the "ADD" button and locate the music folder on your computer where these music files are located. This is your media folder. Best to have all music files in one location (can be separate subdirectories, but the top directory should be something like c:\my music, etc.). 3. Now the confusing part. Your favorites on your local LMS are NOT the same as the favorites on mysqueezebox.com. The good news is that they sorta are. That is, when on LMS and you go to favorites, you should see a listing for "on mysqueezebox.com" and you'll see them there. This assumes you set up your mysb.com credentials in LMS as mentioned above. But the other confusing thing is that if you are connected to LMS and then save a favorite, it will save it on LMS but NOT on mysqueezebox.com. But you'll get the hang of this. If all you do is listen to internet radio, you should probably always just connect to mysqueezebox.com. I'm not at home with my Radio, but you need to figure out how to add a HOME menu item to the RADIO that says "switch to mysqueezebox.com" so you can easily find it. Currently its hidden in something like "settings > advanced > networking". If you are on mysqueezebox.com, you won't see the option. To switch to local LMS, you select "my music" and it should offer you the name of your local music library (e.g. Gary's Music Library). Good luck. And you'll find lots of help here. just ask. And once you get the hang of all this, it will not be nearly as confusing! -- garym *Location 1:* VB Appliance 6TB (1.10) > LMS 7.7.1 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Location 2:* VB Appliance 3TB (2.0) > LMS 7.7.1 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) > LMS 7.7.1 > SqueezePlay Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controllers: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.7 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94037 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
