There is a cheat that could work sometimes . Make a short playlist with the same station 2 or 3 times in it, set the player to repeat playlists .
It may not work under your condition but worth a try, I assume that ships internet is throttled and traffic shaped to let navigational data and important coms trough and possibly weather has more prio than of shift peoples private use .
