If you hook it up to a wired connection, the wireless isn't being used for anything anyway. So as mentioned, it's not a major thing. It's not actually transmitting anything since it's not connected to anything. It's just sitting, listening to all the wireless networks out there, in the event that you ever want to change your connection method to one of them.
