If you just want access to your local music files or radio via
individually entered URLs, the answer is to put together a dedicated LMS
server with nothing else to run.  Get it working and then don't touch
it. If you keep your music on a separate drive or network share you
won't even need to put new music on the server.

There are lots of options:- plug computer, NAS, disused PC with Linux or
Vortexbox.  LMS is very undemanding.

I have have an old NAS with a working copy of LMS on it, albeit a bit
slower than my current one.  If LMS breaks on the new NAS because of an
OS update (unlikely) then I will simply add the old NAS back into the
network and just use it as a dedicated LMS server.
