I'm with you 100%. My SB investment (1xSB3, 1xSBT (+1 spare), 1x Boom, 2xSBR) is predominantly about playing back my own personal music collection. There's no way I'd buy into a local playback system that needs an internet connection. Am I being naive in hoping that Logitech might relent and allow UE Radio hardware to load SB-compatible firmware? Right now I believe that the UE Radio hardware is the same as the SB Radio, and would therefore be perfectly capable of running SB firmware if Logitech chose to allow it. If a future Touch-like UE device ever saw the light of say, is there any way that it could be (physically, hardware-wise) incompatible with the SB ecosystem, apart from the strategic decision by Logitech not to allow it? Isn't there therefore a chance that with a strategic change-of-heart we may yet get new SB-compatible hardware in the future? Such a change-of-heart would keep the existing user base happy for very little extra effort. I can see the logic that's led to the UE Radio, but did they really have to kill off SB to achieve this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96188 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
