Anything I've read on various forums, including Head-Fi, indicates that this is the case. Of course Apple isn't forthcoming with any info. Nobody will know for sure until somebody gets the new hardware in their hands, but there seem to be strong indications that line-out audio, even with the adapter, won't be supported.
