If so, I think the reasoning is simple, and I imagine it was an agreement between Slim Devices and Pandora that carried over to the Logitech days. Basically they want someone to get some revenue, such as (a) Slim Devices / Logitech from hardware sales, (b) Pandora from Pandora One subscriptions, or (c) make the user listen via the Pandora web site and be exposed to visual ads, for which Pandora receives money.
