Your experience and observatins of how others choose to listen to music
do not surprise me at all. I think this is fairly common for many music
listeners, the ipod/iphone etc approach.

When I 1st bought my 1st Touch I was looking for a method to listen to
the music I then owned wo having to go search for this CD or that one
each time I wanted to listen to something. I would add that probably
1/2 of the 25K tracks I have on my external hard drive are from legally
downloaded concerts. Thes present a tagging issue in that they are not
in any online databases which tend to be less than accurate from my
experience anyway. This required many hours of manual tagging. Most
people do not want to or have the time to do this type of prep work.
Most do not have the volume of live concert downloads either. That being
said I have enjoyed the challenge of learning software and fixing issues
as they arose. Many just want to plug and play. The work invoved w a
local music library can be staggering to many, but it has been well
worth the effort.

One of the big drawbacks to the new UE Radio from what I have read is
its inability to play a random mix of tracks. This is a very nice
function of the Squeezebox line. Let's hope they integrate that
function into future versions of the software and also come out w a
device one can connect to a home stereo/music system.
