The issue is that the hardware is a little different in the UE Smart Radio, so loading Squeezebox firmware on it might work, but if it doesn't work you risk turning the device into a brick where it won't start anymore and you can basically not use it. Unfortuantely there aren't even any official distribution from Logitech of UE Music Library server for NAS boxes, so you basically need a Windows or Mac computer to get an officially supported version.
