If it's an older Radio it should work to just connect it to an older Squeezebox Server version and if that doesn't work the manual downgrade procedure should work.
Check the hardware revision by login via ssh and run: cat /proc/cpuinfo The hardware revision is listed at the end, something like this: Hardware : Logitech MX25 Baby Board Revision : 0005 If Revision is 0007 the Radio will likely only work with 7.7 firmware, but if it's 0005 or lower you should be able to downgrade it manually.
