I can't find the thread right now but I read a post recently suffering something similar (might have been a boom though)
He cracked it open and discovered the internal antennas were actually stuck to the circuit board, relocating them to be stuck to the inside of the case instead resolved the issue. I'll see if I can find the post when I'm next at a PC.
