So I called Logitech. They were specific - "did you buy from Amazon direct, or was it an Amazon reseller?" I checked.. a reseller. "OK, well we don't warrant items purchased from Amazon resellers, because they are not authorised." End of call.
I've contacted reseller (we'll see), but based on Logitech response, I take that to mean that they declare a product 'end-of-life' when their official resellers are no longer stocking, and the countdown to turning of mysb.com started then - not from when you first turn the device on or anything else.
