A user of this forum contacted someone at Logitech and the uesmartradio.com website was experiencing problems yesterday and today. It looks like they corrected most, if not all of the problems because all of my menu items and favorites, previously missing, are now back - including the option to switch back to squeezebox software, which I plan to do in the coming days.
