It's unlikely given your symptoms, but a problem I had with one of my Radios was oil over the contacts under the power button, so that conductive pad under the power button couldn't make electrical contact with the PCB underneath so wouldn't turn on. You just need to take some screws out from the PCB to reveal the other side to have a look.
