You cant move an unpatched Radio from mySB to 8 using the radio interface If you have an unpatched Radio connected to 7.9.x and simply upgrade the server the radio should remain connected to the server when it comes online after upgrade. If you subsequently move said Radio to mySB you wont be able to get it back via its interface.
