I think @slatri and @toby10 summed it up. You may be playing what you
think is a http link, but the source has taken the http request from
you, and delivered the content via https (non technical lingo, it's not
my strong area). So you think you are playing http, but it's actually
https, and mysb.com wont play it. Conversely, some streams have active
https and http, and so mysb.com might play it.

as @toby explained, both LMS and mysb.com are "servers". mysb.com was
provided for "out of the box" functionality. In the past, neither
supported https. Further development of mysb.com was discontinued some
time after the line was dropped, but LMS development continued as a
community effort, and is still ongoing. https support was added along
the way somewhere

mysb.com is still kept alive by logitech for legacy purposes (some
people are using it despite it's limitations), but it might go away
someday. Thanks to this wonderful community and the gracious devs, LMS
will live forever. Right guys? :)

This is my understanding, anyone, please chime in with
corrections/clarifications
