Just for completeness, HLS streams can also have embedded metadata using
different methods. When playing stations which offer multiple formats 
(e.g. http /mp3, http/aac and HLS) - the availability of embedded
metadata may vary.

I think some station streams do not have embedded metadata to encourage
listener to use "official" websites or consolidators (e.g. Tune-in) to
display ads as well  track metadata etc.
