I am happy to report that our Radio so far has tolerated the migration
to a new Wi-Fi 6 router (Asus GT-AX6000). The CPU and AP chipsets are
more recent Broadcom releases (BCM4912/BCM6710). Perhaps the newer
chipsets are becoming a little more legacy friendly.

But in an AX mesh network that normally causes wireless havoc with
Radios and even Touches, binding the Radio to the router in this
particular environment (preventing node roaming) has maintained a stable
connection.

Our primary need for the router upgrade was 2.5G WAN and LAN capability
to support multigigabit ISP service. Not many prosumer grade routers
currently offer multigigabit on both WAN and LAN. But Asus also has a
strong reputation for very regular firmware updates and bug fixes, and
may have been more responsive to addressing legacy client issues than
some other prosumer/consumer makers. Which is why we stuck with them on
the upgrade.

In any event, the Radio (increasingly sticky knobs and all) keeps
chugging along on its onboard wireless, even entering 2023. So it can
be done.
