I agree, the path "issue" is not really a problem and the patches seem to be
effective, though not elegant.
If you don't mind, I'll mail some suggestions, but because touching
prepareLitString() with some OS dependent code and possibly adding something
like a "is_path" flag looks awful. I think that a bit of patching for the
Windows build is acceptable. I'll also have a look at temporary files, when
looking at the code again.
I'll update the regular Windows download package later this day with my
patches.
