Hi,
Currently we are developing in ruby on rails, its working out very well
compared to java :) Thanks for all your efforts.
We would like to see where the community (and the core team) of rails
things we are headed. What are the weak point of ROR? and where should
it be improved or extended with new functionality? What are you currenty
working on? Which available plugins are a candidate for inclusion?
- Currently we are thinking a way that the idea of component based
program should be somehow incorportated into ror (The way of reusing
presentational 'objects'). Component based programming brings a lot of
problems with its architecture, highlevel components just don't work
(for me). But designing all those screens take a lot of time to (even
with a lot of predefined things in textmate).
- We really like RJS, something that could be pushed to support more
things in javascript? maybe duplicating a way of javascript programming
in ruby and creating (cross-browser compatible) javascript? Maybe this
isn't such a good idea : ) but we would still like to make some type of
prototype...
- Include the activerecord statement in migrations (and record in
database) to the database_scheme...
- filecolumn is something ready for inclusion, how every to make it more
in the style of ROR it should work something like has_image or
has_images enc..
