Well yes, as we discussed in Dundee I think, and on various other occasions, we 
need to modernise our asset serving.

It would help if rails could stick to an asset serving solution for more than 
five minutes before changing it again of course, and it's a big job.

As I've said before I did start playing with propshaft (the current rails 
preferred solution) but I didn't get far - the problem is it's not really 
something you can do incrementally but rather something where you have to rip 
everything up and rebuild it. On top of which I struggle with making modern ES6 
import based javascript and older javascript work together...
