It's not dependant on using cloudflare as a CDN in front of the site so it's
not really blocked by us moving away from that. Indeed this PR was I believe
created long before we ever used cloudflare in that way.
Obviously other options (recaptcha, hcaptcha, etc) are available but I picked
this one because it's less of a pain for end users.
