At the end of the day even iD and JOSM will let you enter any tags you want -
they will try and guide you to certain ways of tagging but they won't stop you
entering raw values.
Other editors are probably do even less in the way of validation.
So you certainly could try and extend this to do some validation, but it would
probably make this PR at least ten times bigger at a guess!
