To me he question behind all this is: Why do we have different options at all?
The way I see this we should just have public GPS traces and that's it. Now
that the main editors can all handle local trace files, there is no need to
keep private data at all. If we just keep public traces a lot of the complexity
goes away, it is easy to explain to users and we'll not get into problems down
the line with privacy concerns. We don't need to differentiate between ordered
and not ordered points, we'll just have the complete traces and be done with it.
