I've found the easiest way to find hotspots is just to find Unwired uConnect hotspots, as per this page: http://www.unwired.com.au/get/storefinder.php?p=3 There's probably a pile of other cafes and bars with free wifi, but Unwired have enough places wired to make it easier just to go to one place and find 'em all rather than Googling randomly for "Free Wifi cafe Sydney"... There seem to be a fair number of uConnect places strung out along the highway in Newtown; I can't recommend any of them in particular, as I've not visited any. The one uConnect I've used is at Strawberry X in Surry Hills, which was a pretty cool place to spend the day hacking and talking with colleagues. Connectivity was pretty good, too. - Matt (Unaffiliated with Unwired, Strawberry X, or anything else pimped in this e-mail) -- "I'm tempted to try Gentoo, but...
