What got me worried recently, on that same subject, is how expensive it is to own a merchant account. If your website works with small (cheap) transactions, the fee can be quite substantial.
So I'll second your question, and plus, does anyone have any knowledge of a bank that won't charge you your kidneys for a merchant account? ps: in case anyone's wondering, you need a merchant account to be able to receive CC payments via a gateway a la eWay.
