I use slicehosts DNS tools for exactly this (with heroku)
You could create a slicehost plan then cancel the slice immediately. You
keep your log in and DNS services for free. Then just set the nameservers
for the domain to the slicehost ones and add in your entry in their panel (
manage.slicehost.com)

Easy =)
