I've got no problem with JRuby as a tool. Thanks to last month's talk on IronRuby I can even see the point of Ruby.NET too. It seems to me Charles Nutter's vision of "Enterprise JRuby" is incompatible with DHH's design philosophy and what drew many of us to Rails in the first place. DHH has suggested JRuby was a good way to "start a conversation" with Enterprises, but that ultimately it was probably just a way to get them to come "here" from "there". Perhaps it'd be good to get another talk on JRuby by someone knowledgeable in it at a RoRo meetup soon? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby or Rails Oceania" group.
