It does not matter to me one bit. It does matter to the enterprise
that is so set in their ways, as they need an Sun/Oracle, IBM or a
Microsoft to change their perception of the world. That is the beauty
of a JRuby or IronRuby. We all benefit by being able to write
applications in the language of our choice and deploy on the platform
of the clients choice.

How many of you have walked onto a client site to be greeted with a
document stating this is how we want the app to be deployed.

Many would say we should not be dealing with that kind of client. I
disagree. They are the kind of clients we all need, stable, wealthy,
and seem to have an endless number of projects.

We have the tools to meet any challenge that is placed upon us.

Best of all, we get to do it the way we want to.

My only concern about all the moves to Engine Yard, is just that, are
we not reliant too heavily now on the good will of one company. Heck
they now have the core developers for Rubinius and JRuby. The idiom
"too many eggs in one basket" comes to mind. Do we need to worry about
the direction Engine Yard may push on these implementations.

I would buy you a beer if I was not heading to Taiwan.

Enjoy RORO.
