Hi, We are building the leading wedding website in Australia. Globally, theknot.com is the world-leader in the category. The local site is built in Rails and has an Australian "voice".
Some of the technologies we're using: * Content_Manager + Tokyo Tyrant / Cabinet - for the CMS backend * AuthLogic + acl9 - for security * ResourceController - for DRYness * Paperclip - for image attachments/photos * RSolr and Apache Solr - for full-text search and faceted navigation * Amazon S3 - for the photo storage backend * Workflow - for states and workflows * Asset_packager - for a speedy page load * The usual suspects of will_paginate, exception_notification, permalink_fu, etc. * Apache + Phusion Passenger - for scalable hosting * Varnish - for web acceleration We need an experienced Rails developer to help implement some features of the site. You'll have a couple years of experience developing Rails applications and have excellent standards-based markup skills. You'll be able to work a combination of on-site (in Alexandria, NSW) and off-site. This is a short-term contract (4-8 weeks) to help implement some key features. If this is of interest, please contact Seth Yates at +61 408 518 330 or [email protected]. You can check out our corporate website http://www.independentdigitalmedia.com.au/brands/the-knot for details on the company.
