Hi all,

It seems everything is picking up in the Ruby market which is a great
sign. I have a client that is looking for a Junior to Mid Level
candidate for 6 months, and he would consider someone who is
passionate about RoR, but hasn't had the chance to gain a RoR job due
to lack of COMMERCIAL experience.....the chicken/egg scenario. Anyway,
I have just posted the role on Seek and thought to post it here as
well so that others can view it

Please contact me Rob Stevens 02 9439 4643 from Higher Recruitment or
[email protected]

Kind Regards

Rob

*********SEEK AD**************

Our client, a large digital agency is currently on the hunt for a Ruby
on Rails contractor for an initial 6 months. They are looking to
interview at least 3 candidates next week, therefore interview slots
are available

Essential Skills:-

2-3 years web development experience in either RoR, PHP, Java, Perl
(RoR preferred)
demonstrated commitment to RoR even if you have come from a different
development background
Full SDLC experience
Strong exposure to AJAX, CSS, Javascript and MVC
Core PostGres/MySQL skills
proven ability to develop within a Linux/Unix environment

Candidates who don't have commercial experience with RoR can apply, as
long as they can demonstrate abilities with the technology and can
show that they are committed to it, such as attending seminars/
workshops, or having already created solutions at home with the
technology. This is a fantastic step for someone who has come up
against rejection due to the fact that they don't have COMMERCIAL
experience with RoR

This is a Junior role, paying between $35-$45 per hour for 6 months.
Suitbable candidates should apply online immediately so that
interviews can be scheduled.
