Prohost is an up-and-coming web development company with a focus on
quality. We specialize in online applications built in Ruby on Rails
and Javascript, with a strong emphasis on a user-friendly experience
and attention to detail.

We are looking for a talented and motivated business analyst to join
our team. Our BA will hit the ground running, working to ensure that
our reputation for high quality is continued.

The successful candidate will:

    * Have several years of experience: EITHER as a Business Analyst
in the IT industry, preferably with a background in web development OR
as a senior web developer who always enjoyed designing the system in
detail rather than coding it
    * Have excellent written and verbal communication skills that
cover geek speak to layman, as you will be translating between species
    * Be a quick learner, eager to master new skills and prepared to
adapt to new technologies and ideas
    * Have an enthusiastic attitude, fantastic organisational skills,
and a desire to succeed
    * Enjoy working and collaborating with our team, but have the
motivation and initiative to work individually as well

The job will entail:

    * Client interaction: Keeping clients happy by listening to their
requests and responding expediently.
    * Quotes and Contracts: Suggesting desirable features and
upgrades; describing accurately and concisely how a proposed system
will work; and assisting Sales with price estimation.
    * Collating user requirements: Understanding the proposed system
by grasping the underlying business purpose; discerning between what
the client thinks they want and what they actually require; and
keeping features within the contracted scope.
    * Creating documentation: Detailed page mock ups; functional
specifications; system documentation; and help files as required.
    * Managing programmers: Discussing requirements with the
programming team; making suggestions for and implementing process
improvement; overseeing progress of projects; testing projects
thoroughly for bugs; UAT; and checking that the product created meets
specifications and requirements.
