For those who are driving - make sure your (hire) car has a etag/token/arrangment to pay for the tolls on the M7 road out of sydney (which turns into the hume highway) - there are a few auto tolls you drive though and you don't want to get a fine through the hire car company.
FWIW, the tolls are so worth it for that smooth fast road (but you can avoid them if you really want).
