Hey Jono,
My only feedback is to use the various ones and see what you think.
I use Machinist, but you might like FG.
It's up to you!

Hi there!
I'm in the process of deciding between various libraries for test data
generation. The obvious popular ones that have popped up are factory
girl and machinist.
I found this post in the intertoobs:
http://toolmantim.com/thoughts/fixtureless_datas_with_machinist_and_sham
Which has brought me here to ask what the current opinions of these
alternative approaches are!
As far as I can see before I start using them, both libraries do
roughly the same thing, with roughly the same features, but different
syntax. I understand that factory girl can be coaxed into using
machinist syntax though, so:
Does anyone know if there any significant differences between the two
libraries apart from syntax that make one stand out from the other?
E.g.
- speed
- robustness/scalability as a project's complexity increases
significantly (not in terms of speed, but in terms of clarity/DRYness/
code semantics)
Thanks for your help!
Jono.
