I've had a post disallowed because the moderator (Ben) decided it was a worthy post, it just wouldn't go anywhere.
> I understand your rant here, but I don't feel that it is going to go > anywhere... I'm going to disallow it. If you'd like to send it personally to the poster then please feel free. I guess I don't fit into the 'dodgy character from the past' just yet, so in general terms, should the moderator disallow posts because how they feel others will perceive it. This gives the moderator a somewhat powerful position to make assumptions on how the group will react to the post. Shouldn't the group determine the worthiness of a post based on the collective responses from the group? I'm all for moderating posts that are SPAM, irrelevant, rude, abusive, but where does the moderate draw the line, too much control will defeat one of the reasons this group was set up, to have freedom to share ideas, thought, opinions with like minded RoR enthusiasts. What do others think? And finally will my rant in this post be disallowed? Hey Mike, Posts by new users are moderated. Posts by dodgy characters from the past are moderated. Posts that google think are spam are moderated. As for regular members (thats you!), they're not moderated at all. Your last post didn't hit the moderation queue as far as I'm aware... did you see a delay on it? It's overkill to have every post by group members waiting for approval. It causes unnecessary delays. I don't think we need this level of censorship.
