You wouldn't believe it, but the BioRuby folk were complaining today that their wiki was being spammed!
They discussed only allowing authorized people to edit the wiki. That won't work for RORO, as you'd want new people to register for hacknight within 5 seconds of it being announced. You may want to semi-protect all the non-hack-night pages, though.
