We're looking for a mid-to-senior Rails/JavaScript dev to join the
tech team here at Tutoring Australasia. We have lots of cool features
on our wish list and not enough of us to get them all done. So, we
want to bring on another talented someone (maybe you?) to help us kick
more development butt. This can be either a part-time or full-time
position (see more info below).

Ideally, you are:
- Very comfortable with building and maintaining Rails apps. You're
old friends with Haml/Sass, Ruby, JavaScript/jQuery. Bonus points if
you're BFF with Backbone.js and CoffeeScript, too.
- Outgoing and enjoy working in an office where there's usually music
playing; from Daft Punk to Jamiroquai to Radiohead, we've got varied
musical tastes, but we tend to avoid Country.

Working for us, your responsibilities would probably include:
- Hacking on SkillsBuilder, our Rails 3 app that lets students take
practice quizes and lets their teachers see how they're going. You'll
take responsibility for driving a few of our prioritized features from
concept to deployment. (With lots of guidance from the rest of dev
team, of course.)
- Pairing with the other members of the dev team in our day-to-day
coding tasks.
- Playing Counter-Strike, Starcraft, and the like, with the dev team,
after-hours, if that's your thing. We're a really friendly bunch.

A bit about Tutoring Australasia and the Dev Team:
Tutoring Australasia is an Australian company that provides live,
on-demand, online tutoring for students in Australia. We have about
twelve full time staff (and hundreds of tutors).

Our development team consists of me (@gabehollombe), Ganesh Shankar
(@ganesh_shankar), Adam McNeil (@adam_mcneil), and Cameron Batt, most
of whom you've probably met at Sydney RORO events and Railscamps.
We're a tight-knit group of friends who work together to make cool
things, and we have a blast doing it. Inspired by Railscamp, at the
end of last year, we spent five weeks driving up the coast from Sydney
to the Gold Coast. We worked remotely, camped in a huge tent, got
heaps better at wakeboarding, and even did a fair share of hacking by
the light of a campfire:

Misc Details:
Where: St. Leonards (on-site preferred, but there's a possiblity to
acommodate off-site work so please don't let our preference for
on-site prevent you from getting in touch)
Length of job: Starting now-ish, and lasting for at least 3 months.
Pay rate: $40-$60/hour -- this is a big range because we'll happily
consider mid and senior devs; the rate we settle on will depend on
your level of experience and the amount of awesomeness in your work.

If you're interested, or if you know someone who might be, please
shoot an email to me, Gabe Hollombe, at [email protected].
I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks so much for reading.
