Hi All Flying Solo is an online community for those going it alone in business. We're a tight-knit little company - 3 partners and some editorial peeps - and we're looking for a super-reliable tech person to join our team.
The person we’re after will be happy to take on a regular, reliable new client and will be able to commit around a day a week working with us on site maintenance and development. The work involves taking over full management of our existing, established site (www.flyingsolo.com.au) with some initial handover support from our current developers. Specifically, the expertise we're looking for is: · Ruby on Rails experience (er, of course!) · MySQL database experience · A little PHP knowledge since this is how our forums connect to the main CMS · Ideally vbulletin experience (our forum platform), or a willingness to upskill in this area Tech skills aside, we want someone professional and reliable who is looking for a serious commitment with an established client. We would be happy to consider a retainer or employment arrangement for the right person. We work both remotely and from a serviced office in central Sydney - ideally you'd work alongside us fairly regularly, but this is very flexible for the right person. We envisage spending c.$2k month ($500 a week).
