I was recently made Chair of a Board. It's actually a really interesting area to learn about.
I think Australia would be a better place if more geeks took up positions on Boards, especially in NFP institutions where IT knowledge is sometimes lacking. It would be great if the Ruby Australia board could blog or something to document progress and discoveries.
