[JOB] Good UX guy in South Melbourne

Hi Guys,
The PropConnect http://www.propconnect.com/ is looking for somebody
who could help to create a Github-like awesome web app for Real
Estate networks. Surely, PropConnect has guts and connections to
change how that works :)
We are in the process of re-designing (almost green-field) the app
and want to deliver the best experience to the users and need help
with it.
Someone who understands what user mental model is; read "Designed
For Use" and alike; knows how to do it right and why!
The Front-End dev skills and Rails/JS/Jasmine etc knowledge would be
bonus, but we are really after UX.
PropConnect is located in South Melbourne (couple of minutes from
CBD) and we work in the office as well as remotely.
We hope to get the job done in a couple of months or so on a
contract basis but are open to discussions and will settle on what
works best for everybody.
Then we'll agree on the rates and the rest.
I'm a dev here, and in two words how I work at PropConnect:
couple of days from home, couple in the office.
Since the team is very small, it is flexible.
technology wise we try a lot of things: started with .NET,
scratching that, Ruby, couple RDBMS, Neo4j with Rails, JRuby etc.
I passionately contribute to OSS when can (@dnagir) (knockout-rails
gem was discussed in Ruby5 :) ).
flexible working hours are just saving my time (skip peak times).
guys here are open-minded, poor pleasure :)
(ask more...)
If you know somebody who is interested, please pass this on.
Beer would be on me :)
Email me ([email protected], reply here) or Asaf Brukarz ([email protected]
) if anything.
Cheers,
Dmytrii

Hi,
I'm a JavaScript/Ruby developer based in Melbourne. I'm primarily a
front
end dev but dabble in Ruby / Rails. I'm looking at getting out of
working
for design agencies and into more product / application orientated
work. A
small startup would be ideal (I'm currently at Deloitte and would like
pretty much the opposite of that if possible). The ability to work 4
days a
week would also be great.
My skills in FED run the gamut from basic HTML/CSS, animation in JS,
work
with frame works like Backbone.js etc. Lately I've been working on a
framework to allow Backbone.js to work over Faye, allowing realtime
updates
of the Backbone models as updates occur on the server. The server
component
of this was written in Node.JS.
With Ruby, I have experience designing APIs, mostly built on top of
Sinatra, use of job queues (mainly delayed_job and Resque) and work in
Rails.
I have a portfolio online at www.richardson.co.nz. The most recent
Rails /
Backbone.js I built was a personal site for tracking examples of
music in
genres, you can find it online at www.knowyourgenre.com. A recent JS
application that I wrote can be found at:
http://nehta.s3.amazonaws.com/application.html
Please contact me off list at [email protected]
Thanks,
Samuel Richardson
