We have been a rails shop for the past 18 months (although I've been on Rails since 1.0) and have a very unique and fun approach towards our work. We are philosophically opposed to those agencies that keep their programmers at the end of the chain and just make them churn out the sites that the Creatives design and Builders build. We work as project teams, meaning that as a Railer at Hard Hat you will get to meet your clients, contribute towards the concept, influence the outcome and be part of celebrating the successes. We are looking for a full-time, in-house, mid-level Rails developer with at least one year prior commercial experience (and/or a body of Rails work we can see). Ideally, you'll have experience in: - Rails 2.3.8 (or newer). - Javascript (+ the obvious libraries) - Git - Linux (or OSX) - A good understanding of practical Web Development Bonus points for: - ActiveScaffold - Capistrano - Python - Clojure, Scheme, Common Lisp (+ any other LISP or functional language) - Xcode - Qualifications are great, but not necessary - demonstrating your ability is far more important to us.
