Hey there, Blake Education is looking to expand and we need some help in a few areas to do it.
About Us We develop educational websites that help pre-school and school age kids with literacy and numeracy. We currently run 2 large sites across 10 international domains, servicing thousands of schools and tens of thousands of home users. Some stats: - ~10k schools - ~200k parents - ~800k students - Students from 194 countries - 30TB traffic per month Blake is located in Leichhardt, Sydney. Most work is done on-site at Leichhardt, but we do offer at least one day per week of remote work if desired. We work 40hr per week. Seriously. We use Rails, Coffeescript and Backbone (and a bunch of other tech). Who we are looking for: We have several areas we need help with. All roles are full-time, permanent. 1) Senior Rails Developer. We've got a lot of stuff going on with Rails - new sites, new content for existing sites and refactoring. Strong experience in a commercial Rails environment We look favourably on open source contributors Passionate TDD/BDD practitioner Happy to work solo or pairing Can communicate with programmers and non-programmers alike This role is paying $100K+ 2) Designer/Front End Dev. Somehow we've subsisted without an internal designer for quite a while. We'd like to address that shortcoming. Skills: Obviously, CSS/HTML Experience with SASS/HAML Can produce responsive designs and markup for a wide range of devices, from PCs running older IEs to the iPad. This role is paying $90K+ 3) Coffeescript Developer. One of our biggest projects this year is to transition away from Flash as our content delivery mechanism. We're developing tools to allow use to interleave video and canvas-based animations and games. Experienced with these?
