Hi everyone, It's nearly time for rorosyd again, on Tuesday 8 May, 6:30 for a 7pm start at the Trinity Bar in Surry Hills: http://tinyurl.com/6emfna
We have one talk lined up (maybe two), there are plenty of slots available for talks. Bring 'em on! I have been thinking a bit lately on what I would love to see in talks, and if anyone has experience with any of these, please raise your hand and come and tell us about it: - Fast tests with rails (i.e. testing as much as you can outside rails, so that rails doesn't have to load up for each run) - Asset pipeline gotchas. And there are many. - Apache Hadoop - Real-life usage of JRuby and/or Rubinius and what they offer over MRI (and also what drawbacks they have) - Devops stuff like Chef, Puppet and Babushka (which of course is home grown...) - Something on erlang. Please put your name down at https://github.com/rails-oceania/roro/wiki/rorosyd-topics (and also let me know) to reserve a slot. See you there!
