As I'm sure many on this list are aware, the first Australian Ruby Conference will be held in Melbourne next February at The Jasper Hotel!
We are excited to have Dave Thomas, Corey Haines, Aaron Patterson and Mikel Lindsaar lined up to present keynotes. Dave will also be presenting a full day Advanced Ruby tutorial. To round out the programme we need your help! We're calling for proposals for half or full-day tutorials on February 20 and proposals for 45 minute talks for the conference proper on February 21 and 22. To complement Dave's tutorial, we'd love to see a tutorial at a more introductory level. More specific tutorials are also welcome. As far as the talks go, our draft programme allows for 22 talks in addition to the keynotes. We're allowing until the end of October for proposals to be submitted via Github: * https://github.com/rubyaustralia/rubyconfau-2013-tutorials-cfp * https://github.com/rubyaustralia/rubyconfau-2013-cfp Speakers whose talks or tutorials are selected will have their conference fees waived. Naturally there are also many other benefits to presenting at RubyConf Australia. If you're somewhat inclined to submit a proposal but are unsure, I thoroughly recommend listening to a recent Ruby Rogues podcast about presenting at conferences (http://rubyrogues.com/064-rr-presenting-at-conferences). So, get your thinking caps on and submit your proposals!
