I've got an 11" 4GB 2011 MBA I'm actually working on a massive java project at the moment (Spring framework with jetty server and H2 DB), and I've got a ie7 and ie9 vm running as well. Luckily I don't touch the java (I'm dev'ing front end), but my machine copes perfectly fine.
I also don't use any external monitors at all, I find it's a lot easier when I just want to carry my laptop into a meeting or show some stuff to the team; no need figure out which spaces your stuff is in. It's also great to just concentrate on one thing at a time. Utilising the OSx spaces is important as well. =) Sonny On Thursday, October 25, 2012 10:26:01 AM UTC+11, Rich Buggy wrote: > > Hi everyone > > I'm planning to switch my development machine from Windows to Macintosh. > Is a MacBook Air (with 4GB memory) sufficient for Rails development?
