Hi,

As mentioned by Keith we're running a Rails Girls event during rubyconf au.
In order to get some practice at the event we're going to run a workshop
on the 23rd and 24th.

What's Rails Girls? It's an event designed to get women into tech. In a
friendly and pleasant atmosphere you get to code up an app with other
women. It's an opportunity to learn some basic rails and web development
techniques. It's an opportunity to dabble in technology with people like
you. Check the video at http://railsgirls.com for a flavour.

It's true that most people on this list wouldn't get much out of this from
an educational point of view. However it is likely you know someone that
would. Partners, family members, friends or colleagues, are all welcome.
Experience doesn't matter. What matters is your desire to give it a go.

How can you help? Easy, in the first instance you can spread the word.
Forward this email, stick it on your work notice board, why not project
it over a building? :) In the second instance you can
coach. If you know rails well enough that you could teach others I'd love
to hear from you. Particularly female rails devs.

Interested? Cracking :) Apply at http://railsgirls.com/melbourne.

Thanks for reading.
Robert
