Hi All;

We don't always post to the list, but when we do, it's for a great position.

*About you*

You've done the Rails, you know how it all works and you've shipped a variety
of different apps. TDD and BDD are things you've done at work, and you
understand why they're important.

You may have been working as part of a team but it feels like you're ready to
step up to the next level. As long as you're good at communicating with actual
people, this role would be perfect for you.

There's a few other pieces of this puzzle like some really interesting
dashboards that show real-time business metrics to internal users so writing
SQL should be something that you're comfortable with.  You'll also get the
chance to hand pick the team as it grows. Interesting codebase and a team you
like? Yeah. That.

*About the company*

A not-for-profit organisation that's going though some changes. One monolithic
app has been broken down and rebuilt into small applications, all running Rails
3. Now the heavy lifting has been done, they're after someone to come in and
take over in a lead developer capacity.

Working with the CIO, you'll be the person that is steering the technical
direction of the codebase. Even though the CIO will be the point man between
yourself and the business, you'll need to be able to get your head around the
business value that the apps will produce.

The stack is:

 - Rails 3
 - Postgres
 - Linux VMs
 - Automated deployments (capistrano)

Salary will be good. There are some other cool perks like tax breaks and stuff
like that. Also, 9 day fortnights. Every second Friday is yours to go to the
beach, hack on your own thing, whatever.

*About Lookahead*

We're ex-developers ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the
source code of these applications and we're confident that you're not about to
walk into a world of hurt.

If you're interested in knowing whether or not this job is for you, we'd love
to have a chat. I'll be looking at your code, rather than years experience to
determine what level you're at.

If you like food or coffee, we can go chat over one of those. You can find me
on twitter at @mattallen or email [email protected] or you can even call
me on 0413 777 771.
